D I R E C T O R

Directing live performance holds a special place in my heart. I gravitate toward social justice historical stories and reflections of mental health on the human condition.

A muscular Black dancer stands beside an aerial rope hanging vertically on a dim lit stage, unzipping their hoodie. “I AM Trayvon Martin” is written across the top of the image. On the bottom: #IamTheMany Restore humanity to justice

On a black background, brown paper with ripped edges has the letters M A C B E T H encircling an African mask. Underneath is the name of the show: Macbeth Sese Seko. An African symbol is below and on the bottom on another strip of ripped brown paper are the logos of various funders of the Spanish production.

On a white background with black lettering is a dictionary definition of the word Reparation: noun. The making of amends for a wrong one has done by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged. The Latin etymology is shown. In green lettering on the lower right: The Reparations Show, Friday 11/19, 7pm, The Kraine Theatre, NYC + Virtual. Hosted by @kiebpoli - In orange letters: A variety show featuring Black excellence in film, song, and performance.

A b&w photo of an Igbo-Nigerian non-binary person smiles directly into the camera. Nkenna Akunna is spelled with colorful letters across their body against a lime green background. On the bottom of the image is a white box- cheeky little brown, Directed by Kiebpoli Calnek
